In 1978, Raoul Ruiz was commissioned to make a TV documentary about the French elections from the perspective of a Chilean exile from the 11th arrondissement. But completely against the expectations of the producer, left lost. Ruiz seized the opportunity of this anti-climax to make a documentary about nothing but himself - a film whose central subject is eternally lost in digressions and 'scattering', reviving his Chilean experiments of the 1960s.
