De Claim - Zoektocht naar Roofkunst uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog plot

The Restitutions Committee investigates art treasures stolen by the Nazis and claimed by Dutch Holocaust survivors. Museums or private individuals still regularly discover a work of art of impure provenance, and heirs of possible owners are tracked down. The Restitutions Committee advises these heirs and museums – who are not always happy to donate their works of art – about a solution to the claim. The Claim follows two claimants: sixties Lion Tokkie processes his war trauma by sifting through files himself in search of something that can support his claim on Isaac Israels' painting Children on the beach, which now hangs in a museum in Arnhem.
