Das Weiterleben der Ruth Klüger plot
Survive and live on: in 1942, at the age of eleven, the later writer and literary scholar Ruth Kluger, together with her mother, is deported from deeply anti-Semitic Vienna to the Theresienstadt transit camp in what was then Czechoslovakia. A year later she is sent to Auschwitz, then to Christianstadt, a sub-camp of the Polish Gross-Rosen. She thus becomes an Auschwitz survivor. She wants to know everything about it, but this is not determined by her victim role. Journalist and filmmaker Renata Schmidtkunz gives an intimate glimpse into her private life.
