Dakar-Djibouti 1931, le Butin du Musée de l'Homme plot

May 1931. A mission led by explorer Marcel Griaule sets off on an adventurous journey through Africa. The scientists are collecting 3,600 objects for the collections of the Musée d'Ethnographie du Trocadéro, soon to be renamed the Musée de l'Homme. The adventure inspired the writer Michel Leiris to write 'L'Afrique Fantôme', in which he expresses his disillusionments.
