Cosmonauts: How Russia Won the Space Race plot

The history of the Russian space program. When Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon in 1969, America went down in history as the winner of the space race. But the real space pioneers of the 20th century were the Soviets. Between 1961 and 1966, they achieved some historic achievements, such as the first man and woman in space, the first spacewalk, and the first unmanned moon landing. Until then, the Russians seemed unstoppable. The Soviets then lost the race to the moon but still managed to revive their space program.
