Coma plot
In this documentary, three generations of Syrian women - a grandmother, mother and daughter - calmly and proudly go about their daily tasks in an apartment in Damascus. Their apartment is a microcosm, surrounded by the ravages of war. Silhouettes, glimpses of faces and snippets of conversations evoke the crippling everyday existence, marked by the sense of dread felt in the stories on the radio and television. As their country slowly slips into a coma, their feelings and memories have not fallen prey to the despair and destruction of war.
