Capitalism at Crossroad Street plot

Documentary showing a changing society. For this, one takes a surprisingly rural backstreet in the middle of the Latvian capital Riga and its inhabitants are observed. When in 2013, the economic crisis seems to herald the fall of capitalism, Seleckis moves to the Kruispuntstraat. Like David Attenborough in the jungle, Seleckis provides a slightly ironic commentary on the daily doings of the residents in voice-over. Take single mother Daiga who just keeps her head above water. Or undertaker and amateur theologian Aldis who believes the apocalypse is imminent. Highs and lows in the close-knit community are reviewed: the Midsummer party, the annual canoe race and the farewell to Aldis' jacuzzi because of his bankruptcy.
