Cafe de los Maestros plot
Argentine film composer Gustavo Santaollala made a nostalgic trip to Buenos Aires, the birthplace of the tango. He called together living tango legends for a reunion concert in the famous Téatro Colón. The ancient musicians look back on their glory days in the forties and fifties. Then tango reigned in all its varieties in the bars and clubs of Buenos Aires and other cities of the country. The men, who each represent a different tango style, slowly come back to life in the run-up to the concert and on the day themselves manage to enchant both the old guard and new fans with their uplifting and deeply melancholy tango, which, as it is said, the only truly Argentinian thing about Argentina.
