Bliksem plot

As a Dutch queer filmmaker with Moroccan roots, Amain Hassani wanted to tell the ultimate love story. For six years, he and his partner built a shared future in which two worlds would finally come together. Until this relationship suddenly ends. In an attempt to get a grip on the situation, he documents his entire process. Then his father, who lives in Morocco, falls seriously ill. Suddenly, there is no time to lose. This leads to personal conversations in which father and son try to understand each other. Will they manage to grow closer?

Aiman Hassani wanted to make a film about his happy life. Unfortunately, his relationship broke down, he learned that his father was seriously ill, and his dog Bliksem died. And so he filmed his grieving process. Hassani himself described this as a “comforting self-portrait” to preempt any accusations of a narcissistic ego document. Nice try, but unfortunately. And this was paid for by the public broadcaster!
