Black Sun plot
Painter Hugues de Montalembert went blind in the spring of 1978 as a result of a brutal robbery. His assailants threw paint thinner into his eyes, and a day later he was blind. For someone who'd been dependent on visual stimuli all his life, the darkness came as a hard blow, but Montalembert's brain just continued making images. "Vision is a creation, not a perception", as he puts it himself. In Black Sun he tells his story: the difficult period of anger and despair about his fate, about the reactions of well-meaning acquaintances, about the physical pain and about how he finally took control of his life again.
