'Beyond the Wasteland' follows the most avid fans of the 'Mad Max' film series from countries such as Australia, America, Italy, France, Germany and Japan, and how they come together every year at various events. Their eccentric lifestyle is central to this, with full attention to their costumes, vehicles and vision. Interwoven into this documentary is the story of Bertrand Cadart, an actor from the original 1979 film. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, he decides to attend the 40th anniversary by traveling to Silverton in his Firebird for the last time. 'Beyond the Wasteland' thus celebrates life itself, but also the possibility of change through passion and common connection.
