Beyond the Edge plot

In 1953, the ascent of Mount Everest is the last major challenge on Earth. At 8,848 meters high, it is the highest mountain in the world and poses a formidable challenge that has already claimed thirteen lives on previous expeditions. Finally, the impossible is achieved when Sir Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay are the first men to reach the top. It was an event that astonished the world and was defined as a milestone. Using rarely seen images, extensive interviews and 3D technology, Leanne Pooley manages to reconstruct the journey.
