"Can soldiers ever adapt to normal life after they've been to war for years?"

The stories in Beer Is Cheaper Than Therapy paint a harrowing picture of war veterans in psychological distress who have no place in the macho culture of the military. The documentary seeks to answer the question of why the suicide rate among young American soldiers and Iraq/Afghanistan veterans is rising so alarmingly. The makers traveled to Killeen, Texas, where Fort Hood - the largest army base in the US - is located. Nineteen soldiers stationed there committed suicide last year.
