Banana Pancakes and the Children of Sticky Rice plot

Two backpackers arrive in a small village in the interior of Laos. Their arrival turns out to be a divisive issue for the local population and especially for the relationship between two childhood friends. Still, it's not a movie about good versus evil. The backpackers are not intent on disruption per se; that lifts along with their arrival, as it were. And the villagers themselves also dream of more prosperity and luxury.
