Balling plot
In Balling, filmmaker Prisca van der Mullen sketches the daily life of Bei Ling in the Taiwanese capital Taipei. How he perseveres in his struggle to keep the memory of Tiananmen Square alive, how he receives other exiles and above all how he finds his way lonely in a country where he does not want to be. Meanwhile, he hears and feels the power of Chinese President Xi Jing Ping on the streets of Taipei every day. More than ever, China has threatened Taiwan with occupation in recent months. The fear resulting from Xi Jing Ping's unequivocal statements finds a breeding ground in the oracles of traditional divination.
