Ascq 44: Les Martyrs du Nord plot

On April 1, 1944, at 22:44, a group of resistance fighters sabotage the railway line at Ascq, near Lille, with the aim of delaying the supply of German arms and supplies to Normandy. An explosion sounds and the train comes to a halt. The resistance fighters are unaware of this, but the train is in fact occupied by 400 SS soldiers, who slaughter 86 innocent people in retaliation.
