"For how long will four self-willed individuals be able to subject themselves to the interests of an extremely successful string quartet?"
The Berlin Artemis Quartet is almost falling apart just before its 30th anniversary. In 2018, the founder and cellist wants to leave the quartet, then also the second violinist. In the end, they decide to stay together until the end of the season. This gives the rest of the quartet the opportunity to rebuild themselves. Filmmaker Hester Overmars portrays the quartet, the old and new members during this turbulent year, life behind the scenes and international performances.
