Arbeit Macht das Leben Süß, Faulheit Stärkt die Glieder plot
In present-day Romania, the Transylvanian Saxons live as a German-speaking minority, making them the oldest surviving settler group in Eastern Europe. Director Claudia Funk visits the few survivors of this group in Romanian nursing homes and interviews them about their lives. Funk's recordings create a film about not only a dying culture and language, but also a way of life that can be seen as an indication of our aging society.
