Approaching the Elephant plot

What about a school that allows children to choose their own lessons, and where all the rules are democratically voted on? In black and white, Wilder observes the first year of a radical free school. Rules are established democratically and teachers and students have an equal vote. The dramatic tension reaches a climax when the children find themselves in a power struggle with the director.
