The American education system needs to change. Currently, 30% of American students drop out of school before the age of 18. The most important factor for good school performance and future success is the quality of the teachers. However, 46% of public school teachers leave the profession within the first five years of teaching. Through interviews with policymakers and surprising facts from the lives of four teachers, the story is told by and about those closest to the education system. Through an interactive website and this documentary, the 'teacher salary project' is brought to the attention and the looming crisis in the education system is discussed.
