America Land of the Freeks plot

Ulli Lommel was an obsessive and prolific filmmaker of the Fassbinder era. He passed away in December 2017, leaving behind his 64th film, an angry but not quite sombre satire about the plight of his adopted country, the United States. In his film, he travels across the country to document Trump's new America, with a small group of unconventional characters in tow. As one who has experienced the changes firsthand, the country's crude individualism leaves him incredulous—yet amused at the same time.
