All Is Light - Jan Henderikse plot
Jan Henderikse's art is rooted in everyday utensils, which he detects and buys everywhere and exhibits in large quantities: beer crates, pennies, discarded advertising posters from supermarkets or plastic Jesuses. This time he is preparing for a large work of almost two thousand nite lites (small illuminated plastic statues) in the form of Jesus Christ in the bombed-out St. Georgen Kirche in the German Hanseatic city of Wismar. For the umpteenth time he leaves for Berlin. Destitute and thinking about money he doesn't have. In his studio in Berlin, he prepares the new work and visits galleries, begging for an exhibition. The documentary shows where Jan Henderikse gets his ideas from. Like much contemporary art, his work also raises the question of whether this is art or fraud. As a real entertainer, Jan Henderikse is willing to openly show this to us.
