Ali Aqa plot

Seventy-year-old Ali Aqa's large, fleshy hands tremble as he helps a pigeon chick out of its egg. The pigeons he keeps on the roof of his house are everything to him. He calls his favorite white pigeon "sweetheart". He even takes her to his bedroom. His wife looks on with dismay and has reason enough to be jealous. For as lovingly as he takes care of his pigeons, the hot-tempered man, tormented by old age, illness and pain, is so unpleasant to others.
