Aan de Andere Kant plot

Two apparently sleepy villages awaken in the dawn of globalization. While some people from Bakel try to keep up with the developments of modern life, others cling to nostalgic thoughts about what their Brabant hometown once was. This documentary portrays the village of Bakel in the Netherlands and the village of Bakel in Senegal. Precisely because of the constant reflections of these two villages, this observing film forms a universal portrait of man, playing with clichés and filled with paradoxes.
