5 Blocks plot
"A San Francisco neighborhood undergoes its most dramatic change in 50 years"
Market Street, it was called the Champs Élysées of San Francisco. The showpiece of the city in the roaring twenties, full of theaters and restaurants. Now the street with surrounding neighborhoods has fallen into the poorest part of the city. To save it from destruction, San Francisco embarks on a groundbreaking quest for improvement. In 5 Blocks, directors Dan Goldes and Robert Cortlandt show the swamp in which well-meaning planners are in danger of drowning. They show the dialogues between stakeholders and examine the discussions about income inequality, changing demographics and gentrification.
