1970 plot

When the shelves in Polish supermarkets run empty and food prices skyrocket around Christmas 1970, the workers at Gdansk's shipyards can no longer take it. They go on strike. Dozens of protesters quickly become hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands. The communist rulers absolutely want to avoid a repeat of the 1956 Prague uprising. The army is deployed. With terrible consequences.
