"Magino Village: A Tale" is the result of Ogawa Productions' 13-year film project in the village of Magino in Yamagata, Japan. The film portrays the crew's experiences, what they discovered and what they made up themselves. The history of the village - the story of its inhabitants and their ancestors - has been reconstructed through the memories of the villagers and the legends that circulate. But also by excavated historical and even prehistoric objects. The historical stories are not only told but also acted out by the villagers themselves.
