The true story of the first televised murder case in American history, the winter of Frozen Dreams depicts the bizarre story of a brilliant biochemistry student who leads a shocking double life. Barbara Hoffman (Thora Birch) is a top student at the University of Wisconsin and is one of its most notorious prostitutes. When Barbara's fiancé, Jerry Davies, reports a dead body on Christmas morning, he never imagined that the police would suspect him of being the murderer. Hours earlier, Jerry had buried the body in a snow bank, and now Detective Lulling (Keith Carradine) smells troubling. He suspects Davies and Hoffman of foul play. Emphasizing that he and Hoffman did not kill the deceased but merely buried it. Davies and his bride-to-be are soon identified as the prime suspects in a puzzling murder case...
