Unnaipol Oruvan plot

IG Raghavan Maraar (Mohanlal) is the Police Commissioner of Chennai (Madras), who is retiring. When asked which case he remembers most, he can only think of one thing. A case that is no longer mentioned anywhere and that only a few people know about. On the day of the case, the police commissioner is called by an anonymous man (Kamal Hassan), who claims to have planted five bombs at various locations in the city of Chennai.
