Fine French thriller though, with good acting by all the actors. Lots of manipulation around the case

preferably in the cover up, and you remain curious about the

circumstances of Agathe's death. Thought fiancé Felix's actions were a bit off at times

The film certainly gains weight because true, historical facts serve as a solid background.
Children from the French overseas territory, La Reunion, were unceremoniously imported into some departments to prevent depopulation. Their fate was not always rosy.
The story of "Un Mensonge Oublié" is about such a case and is presented excitingly and, as expected, the intrigue unraveling bit by bit. There is a lot involved but remains just within the limits of the credible, although the ultimate ending is a bit sentimental.
In many cases, prestige, prestige and ambition dominate people's choices and behavior and that is a determining factor in this film.
Good build up and acting.

Comes across as a long, suspenseful episode of a mediocre cop show. Floats too much on melodrama and is not always credible, but on the other hand it looks damn good. That Sara Martins has enough charisma as a main character.
