Two Letter Alibi plot

Charles Hilary is in love with Kathy Forrester, a beautiful television personality, but is married to Louise, an alcoholic who has as many lovers as she drinks bottles of whiskey. His pleas for divorce are met with threats and manipulation. "You'd better kill me first," Louise tells him and three hours later she is found dead. In her head is a bullet fired from her husband's pistol. When Charles is arrested, Kathy frantically searches for arguments to prove his innocence.
