Tumszilais Evangelijs plot

From his very first shift, a young, idealistic detective, Romans Skulte, struggles to find his place in the brutal, unforgiving labyrinth of newly independent Latvia. Drug dealers and violent gangsters rule the gloomy streets under the invisible protection of high-ranking officers. Initiative usually destroys those who show it. Novice cadets quickly learn they can't trust anyone, not even their closest friends, because traitors and informants lurk everywhere.
