In a small eel farm in western Greece, two women lead a lonely life while dreaming of leaving. Elisabeth is a policewoman who once had many ambitions. Ten years ago she had to move from Athens and now her life is joyless. Rita is the quiet, mysterious sister of a lounge singer at the local disco. When sudden death disrupts the city and shakes the local community, it begins to drive the two women who have ignored each other's existence together.
