Thy Neighbor's Wife plot
"She played with fire once too often!"
The year is 1850. The suspicious and jealous Raphael Vojnar is a middle-aged judge in the village of Moravia. Raphael vows revenge when his voluptuous blond wife Lita is found to be having an extramarital affair with her former young friend Quirin Michael, who is in the village to help his uncle Sima with the harvest. When Sima is murdered, Raphael manages to get Quirin to be blamed for this murder, even though he knows that village idiot Honza Kratky confessed to the murder. To make sure Quirin is hanged, Raphael Honza kills Kratky, but Lita witnesses it.
