The Safecracker plot
"The crook who became a commando"
Colley Dawson (Ray Milland) cracks safes. Scotland Yard catches him and Dawson is sentenced to ten years in prison. Two years later, England is at war with Germany. The British government plans a raid on a German-occupied chateau in Belgium and is looking for someone who can crack a difficult safe. The contents, lists of Nazi agents in Britain, must be photographed without leaving a trace. Dawson agrees, in exchange for the eight years in prison that awaits him.
