The Man Within plot
"Life in the Raw!"
During a police interrogation, 17-year-old Francis Andrews is brutally beaten. Francis, meanwhile, thinks back to the events of his past that led to his current predicament. Francis has betrayed the crew of a smuggler ship led by Richard Carlyon. Carlyon was also his guardian. Some of the smugglers are captured, but Carlyon escapes and begins a search for Francis. Carlyon was very fond of Francis, but he now considers him a coward. Francis can go into hiding in the countryside with young Elisabeth, who urges him to testify against the smugglers in court.
