The Last Door plot

At a reception in his honor at the Rogers Mansion, Somerset Carroll surprises the guests by claiming to be assisting a female prisoner who has reportedly escaped. Later, alone in the library, he is approached by a young girl who confesses to having been pursued by the police, and he takes her to his own house. There, she reveals herself to be Helen Rogers, who, on the advice of her guests, plays a game on him. He then declares himself a criminal, holding the real Carroll captive, intending to rob the Rogers Mansion.
