The serial killer on death row, Mackenzie has just been executed, a few hours later a death row inmate (Allerdyce) confesses that he committed the murders for which Mackenzie was executed. Commissioner Scali, who had arrested Mackenzie, begins to question whether he has executed the right man and investigates the matter to the bottom.
