That Woman Opposite plot
A series of daring heists have taken place on Rue des Anges, a quiet street in the town of La Bandelette in France. Sir Maurice Lawes always has a window open when he studies. Lewis witnesses a robbery on his street that kills a cop and sees the killer escaping in a car. But the killer has also seen Lewis standing at the window and the next evening the neighborhood is startled by the screams of Lewis' daughter Janice. Janice found her father murdered in his house. Chief Inspector Aristide Garon and private detective Dermot Kinross are puzzled as to why the friendly Lewis was murdered. Both suspect Lewis' ex-wife Eve Atwood and their son Toby, who has already robbed his father because he was blackmailed by his former mistress. Or is it a case of violent theft, as a valuable necklace is missing from Lewis' collection. Or did Lewis witness one of the robberies on his street and therefore had to be killed?
