Rubber Racketeers plot
"Deadlier than the public enemies... more ruthless than Murder, Inc... are these dealers in death who threaten the lives of millions!"
It is 1942. Due to the war effort, rubber is in high demand. Gilin is released from prison and he sees something in the illegal rubber tire trade. While driving home, Gilin has a collision with defense officers Bill Barry and Mary Dale. Gilin's girlfriend Nikki persuades him to settle a false insurance claim with Bill. Instead of their car, the old car with worn-out tires belonging to the Chinese servant Tom, who is about to leave the army, must be mentioned on the claim. Gilin sells the good tires on the black market. Gilin then sells tires from his gang's stolen cars all over town. Gilin also sells defective synthetic tires, which kills Mary Dale's brother Freddy when one such tire bursts. Bill and a group of defense workers conduct their own investigation into the perpetrators.
