After a rather long build-up, the film bursts halfway through into a zany action comedy that, in its caricatural violence, also drags on monotonously long. You can't catch the film having an original idea, but the concept seems to be more of a parody of this type of film in which a police officer gets a second chance after making a mistake in a remote village where seemingly nothing happens but appearances are deceiving and the officer has to take on the entire village. Or perhaps it is even a parody of the many parodies already made. If you like that sort of thing, there is plenty to enjoy.

This film is indeed a sort of parody. You shouldn't take it seriously, and it doesn't take itself seriously either. That does make it a fun thing, easy to watch, and provides a laugh at times because it's delightfully crude, but it also means the film leaves no lasting impression. The atmosphere is pretty okay, but that eventually fades somewhat into the background. And the final act is just one too many. The action is crude and loud, but with too little variation or rhythm to really create a wow moment. Nevertheless, it's fine for entertaining yourself for 90 minutes. 3.0*.
