In the picturesque Sicilian port city of Messina, Inspector Ettore Manetti slowly begins to buckle under the pressure. Violent crime is rampant, a group of motorcyclists has just assaulted and murdered a police officer, and now Manetti is tasked with tracking down three dangerous escaped prisoners. While the trio commits a series of kidnappings, they run over a little girl, after which they narrowly manage to escape the police. Tano, the girl's father, then begins his own crusade as an avenger. Determined and ruthless, he deals with anyone who stands in his way.
