Midnight Mary plot
"A woman you will never forget!"
20-year-old Mary Martin, who is convicted of murder, looks back. We find out that as a teenager she had to fight hard to survive in poverty. After leaving the boarding school Mary appears to have been wrongly arrested and she also became involved in the criminal activities of gangster leader Leo Darcy. In a brothel Mary met the young lawyer Thomas "Tom" Mannering, son of a wealthy and prestigious family, who fell in love with her. Tom helped Mary change her life, but she couldn't escape her past.
