Kiss Me and Die plot

Robert Stone comes to England to find his brother Jim who has disappeared after attending a costume party at the estate of Jonathon Lanceford, the overprotective guardian of young Dominie. Stone pretends to get into the house to interrogate the young lady, but Dominie is very evasive and claims Jim has left her. Lanceford is friendly and welcoming, but seems to be hiding something. Dominie confesses that she is falling in love with Robert and begs him to leave the village. The American refuses, because he wants to find out the truth about his brother. Then he receives an invitation to a costume ball at the estate.
