Kaathal - The Core plot
Mathew Devassy is a retired politician. He is torn between embracing his sexuality and therefore his true identity as a homosexual, and losing his core audience of political voters as well as the goodwill of the parishioners in his small town. At the same time, he fears losing face with the right-wing opposition, which already sees him in a negative light. He is further conflicted by his wife Omana's decision to divorce him due to his passive nature in communication and furthermore his stubbornness to remain closed, which also leads to strained relations on a personal level.
