Bill Crane is a promising amateur boxer. While Bill is tempted to sign up for a series of boxing matches hosted by the dodgy Joe Taggerty, he is protected from himself by sportswriter Wally Matson and his girlfriend Mary Parker. Wally is also the organizer of the local 'Golden Gloves' boxing match programs. Taggerty still tries to persuade Bill to take on a seasoned pro, but he remains steadfast. Bill will, however, go up against Pete Wells.
