"IT'S THE SLICKEST COUP OF A SILK HAT CROOK...AND A SLEUTH IN SATIN SETS OUT TO TAKE HIM!"
Jane Martin wants to prove to her uncle, an insurance inspector, that she too is a good insurance inspector. Jane therefore poses as a jewel thief to infiltrate a criminal gang. She can soon team up with the crafty and murderous criminal Frank Peyton and it isn't long before Jane is in charge of this gang. Peyton begins to suspect that Jane has ulterior motives and does his best to get rid of her. He even commits a murder in front of her, but Jane turns out to be unable to show anything. Meanwhile, Police Sergeant Walsh is busy rounding up the criminal gang.
