El Gezira plot
Loosely based on the life of Middle Eastern drug lord Ezzat Hanafy. The story is set in El Gezira, a town on an island in Northern Egypt that has its own economy based on the opium and arms trade. Police officer Tarek (Mahmoud Abdel Moghney) arrives on the island to gather information about Mansour Hefny (Ahmed El-Sakka), who controls the business. He receives an abundance of conflicting information from the population. Not to mislead him but because everyone has a different image of Mansour. Some see him as a great tyrant, others praise him for protecting their families. Strangely enough, Mansour himself then appears and Tarek waits for him at the police station.
