Die Dame aus Genua plot

During renovation works, a painting is discovered in Hartenau Castle: Van Dyck's 'The Lady of Genoa'. Research shows that it was painted over in 1871. The painter Degenfeld is restoring the artwork that will be shown during the upcoming exhibition. The value of the painting: 1.5 million marks. Professor Linus, director of the state museum, has confirmed the authenticity of the canvas in writing, after which the industrialist Schenk wants to purchase the painting. But suddenly several people are interested in the canvas.
