Cost of a Soul plot

"It's a messed up world we live in.... if you don't open you're eyes you're gonna get stuck."

Tommy Donahue and DD Davis are two soldiers wounded in Iraq returning to the slum in North Philadelphia where they live. Tommy returns to his wife Faith, whom he abandoned when she was pregnant. He meets his 4-year-old daughter Hope for the first time and she melts his frozen heart. DD struggles to keep his younger brother James off the streets while his older brother Darnell seems to become the boss of the neighborhood. Tommy and DD find themselves caught up in a web of crime and corruption as they try to save their family, leaving murder their only option.
